- Feel free to pick a character and delve into their backstory and how they encounter and get recruited by II for the first time. (For the ships, I love "characters meeting pre-canon" as a plot point, especially if they initially have very different dynamics than the eventual allies they become!) For example: Shalem hired to assassinate someone Nika is bodyguarding, or Decker trying to arrest Internationale while he's still working for K&O, or Shalem being hired by the corps to take out Internationale after she causes Sankaku millions of credits in damages through sabotage!
- For the Olivia & Derek ship, something very pre-canon, focusing on the PEIA era, would be fantastic. The rise and fall of the Pan-European Infosec Agency in their doomed effort to stop the megacorps from taking over! Maybe the A-plot is that at the start, the Ambergris is just supposed to be a way off the Eye (away from the corporate bounty hunters, especially if this is set just after Maywick), but by the end of the journey to the next stop, Sleeper changes their mind about leaving. Or doesn't! Who knows! You tell me.
- Alternately, if you prefer to keep the Eye as a setting, I would love the above scenario but as the backstory, with them now returning to the Eye (and all the feelings that may entail, especially if the Flux event happened).
- An ensemble cast thing with Sleeper, Ankhita, Bliss and Ethan onboard the Ambergris would be fun too. I love me a ragtag band of misfits several of whom used to be on very fraught and/or violent terms! But now they get along! Mostly.
- The characters dealing with a new threat to the Sleeper and rallying behind them to protect them from it (whether it's Essen-Arp hunting for them again or something else) would be great

- Something detailing Donovan and Brandeis meeting and coming to trust one another and/or fall in love. We only see snippets of it in the game.
- Especially given the framing of the game, I'd love something in the direction of a time loop, a character trying to break out of the time loop, as well as any and all canon divergence. It would also go very well with the lowkey supernatural vibe parts of the canon has.
- So, for example, a time loop story that ranges from break it differently to a fixit would be fantastic... Donovan trying to save Brandeis and prevent NMR from going live, and stop Akara from getting her way, and seeing all the different timelines that occur when he gets one or the other. I won't insist on there being a Golden Ending where it all turns out okay, given the dark setting and tragedy of the canon, but I also wouldn't say no to one if you're feeling inspired! :)
- Anything fleshing out what the Numen is, what Donovan's whole Deal Is (being effectively immortal, being able to read souls, being unable to leave the Club... one thing is stranger than the next), or Gost and the rest of the supernatural underworld we glimpse. Feel free to get a little weird.

What would it be like to return to the mother who left him behind, whom he hasn't seen in over a year, and who speaks a language he has barely heard in over a year - and to move to a new country, with a new language, and his mother's new boyfriend - and to leave behind the 'father' who has been caring for him for so long? It would also be fascinating to see the effect of the Velvet Revolution on the characters, too. How much does Kolya understand of what's going on? Canon-specific: In the song Jožin z Bažin, the chairman of a village promised his daughter's hand in marriage and half of the local agricultural collective to the narrator if he brought in the monster Jožin, dead or alive. The narrator successfully caught Jožin and decided to sell him to the zoo instead. What did the daughter think about her father's offer? Did the chairman have her permission to offer her hand in marriage? Was the chairman serious about his offer?
Why did the narrator decide he'd rather have cash than marriage to the chairman's daughter and half of an agricultural collective?
How does Jožin adapt to the zoo? Does he hate being in captivity? Does he enjoy a wider variety of food? Does he enjoy watching and interacting with people, even though he can no longer hunt them?
Possible prompts:
The narrator wants to accept the chairman's offer, but only if the chairman's daughter's wants to marry him. She does not. She uses traditional (organic) methods on her family's personal plot, and has observed the differences between her family's garden and the collective farm's chemical agriculture – and noticed that the pest insects are the first to return after application of pesticides; the predatory insects, spiders, and birds take much longer – allowing for greater losses to pests in the chemical agriculture than the traditional. InGen uses blood taken from mosquitos preserved in amber to bring back the dinosaurs - but the blood didn't come with a label. I'm curious as to whether the dinosaurs (and other prehistoric animals and plants) they brought back were the only organisms they were successful with, or whether they also brought back prehistoric mammals, small reptiles, birds, etc. - and they just didn't focus on those (whether because they were more challenging when it came to filling in the DNA gaps or because they didn't think they'd be as exciting to their intended audience as the dinosaurs). A story in which some of the smaller and less popular animals were also on exhibit (maybe in a small exhibit within a visitors' center, or a dedicated aviary, etc.) would be awesome!

What I love about the book:
It's Agatha! ;) I love everything Agatha Christie wrote, this is one of the crime novels without a famous detective and it's - in my opinion - even more exciting. I love novels where a young gentleman accidentally becomes a detective. I also love the way it's narrated, you can't be certain about anything. The suspense! And there are great descriptions of the nobility and the way of life back then.
